Where is Darwin when you need him?

Ok, Something that really grinds my gears is the seemingly rapid decline of the average persons intelligence. Maybe I'm expecting too much but lunch today just made me shake my head.

There is a McDonalds near where I work and I sometimes procure my lunch there, Usually via the drive through because standing in line with stupid people really annoys me. You know the type, they stand in line for twenty minutes waiting their turn and then when they get to the counter they START to decide what they want to order... Like it never occurred to them to think about it for the last 20 minuets. Garg!!

That, However, is not what I'm talking about today. The McDonalds in question is currently being renovated completely so only the drive through is open. This is fairly obvious due to the large number of dumpsters taking up most of the parking lot and the HUGE signs on EVERY door and window explaining in detail that they are closed.

Despite the ample clues to the fact that they are closed, I watched person after person walking up to the door, pulling on it for a while, seemingly puzzled about why it won't open.(Never mind the huge sign on that very door that explains the whole thing). Realizing that the door will not open, they then proceed to walk around to the other door and tug on that one for a while, Still seemingly bemused about why it won't open. Yes, that other door has a huge sign on it too, as do all the windows in between.

Ok, maybe all of them were blind and could not see the sign, or maybe they just can't read and didn't notice the gutted interior of the restaurant through the windows or maybe I'm right and people are just stupid.

The mistake I made was trying to be helpful. After watching one particularly troubled soul go through this confusing process I decided I would be helpful by letting him know that the restaurant was closed for renovations but that the drive through was still open. I always had a soft spot for poor dumb animals.
Unfortunately this poor dumb animal processed that information and decided the best course of action was to WALK through the drive through line, politely waiting his turn amongst all the cars and having reached the drive though window proceeding to ask .. "Are you guys open?"

Thus, completely failing to restore any hope I had for humanity.

I hate stupid people.

Welcome To My Nightmare - Or why should you read this blog?

Welcome,

Let me introduce you to my little friend. I'm starting this blog because someone told me to shut up and post it in a blog. This has a big upside for her but unfortunately for you it means that YOU get stuck hearing my rants.

This all came about because I came home one time too many ranting about some stupid thing or another that was annoying me on that particular day. It's not that they weren't valid things to be annoyed about but rather that there seemed to be something new everyday.

I was told that I should put them out here on the web for other people to love or hate or be indifferent to. So here I am.

I welcome any comments or opinions on what I have to say, open discussion is great and I welcome it but don't expect to change my mind cause I'm a stubborn old cuss and very set in my ways. For those of you familiar with the "In my day ... that's the way it was and we like it" sketch from Saturday Night Live you'll understand perfectly.

I leave you now with this final question...

Why? For the love of all that is holy, Is the slow lane ALWAYS the fastest lane on my drive home from work every day? I'll rant on this topic in my next installment...
